Level 1-2 strategies to support high quality teaching

  • ensure parents are aware of what is being done to support their pupils, and how they can support or reinforce interventions
  • resources and displays that support independence including visual timetables, or photos
  • use of teaching strategies that develop the independent learning of the pupil
  • promotion of independence and social inclusion
  • opportunities for additional experience to develop: dressing, toileting
  • accessible learning areas, clearly labelled and signposted
  • seating plans to support the pupil to maintain focus and good listening and which is distraction free
