Purpose and scope

This inclusion toolkit is designed to guide early years settings, schools and colleges in the education and development of children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND). It aims to support SENDCos in translating baseline assessment outcomes, such as those from Valuing Send (VSEND), into evidence-based, robust and responsive support plans.

These outcome-driven plans can and should involve children, young people and their families in co-production

Each area of need links to high quality resources for using at home.

The toolkit is co-produced by

  • educational psychologists
  • teaching and school partners
  • whole school SEND
  • LEARN teaching school alliance
  • working together team
  • Lincolnshire Partnership Foundation Trust (LPFT)
  • SENDCos
  • The Lincolnshire parent carer forum
  • Lincolnshire young voices
  • Local Authority teams

providing SENDCos with an easy access, evidence based toolkit, allowing them to optimise outcomes for children and young people with SEND.

The toolkit will be updated regularly.

The toolkit should be read in conjuntion with the local offer, and sets out what the local authority expects education settings to provide for children and young people with SEND.
