What is sub contracting?
Subcontracting is when a main contractor delegates a portion of their work to another party (a subcontractor), while still remaining responsible to Lincolnshire County Council for the overall delivery.
When subcontracting the agreement of service, terms and payment is between the contractor and subcontractor. The contract with the council remains with the operator who was initially awarded the contract.
It is vital to make sure Lincolnshire County Council is aware when contracts are subcontracted so due diligence checks are made and in the case of an emergency the authority is aware who is transporting what passengers.
