The local authority has subscribed to the National Governance Association (NGA) learning link to provide FREE governance training to support governing bodies of maintained schools in Lincolnshire.
This online platform provides:
- easy-to-follow online training
- short courses you can complete in your own time
- practical guidance to help you be an effective governor
- 24/7 access – learn when it suits you
There are courses for new governors, experienced governors, and chairs, so you can build your knowledge at your own pace. Good governance makes a real difference to schools.
The NGA have produced a governor training pathway for new maintained school governors to start you on your governance training journey.
How to register (first-time users)
Follow these simple steps:
- access the NGA learning link registration page
- complete the details as requested on the form
- when asked for organisation name, enter your school name
- use your own email address (not a shared one)
- click register
- you will receive an email to set your password and activate your account
How to access the platform (after registering)
- go to the NGA learning link login page
- enter your email and password
- once logged in, you can:
- browse courses
- start learning straight away
- follow recommended learning pathways
Already registered? (existing governors)
If you already have an account:
- go to the NGA learning link login page
- log in using your email and password
If you cannot remember your password:
click “forgot password” and follow the instructions
Once logged in, you can:
- continue any courses you’ve started
- explore new modules
- track your progress
