Outbreak (process for notifying HPT)
If you get a positive COVID-19 case, either through LFD or PCR, you should notify the Health Protection Team.
If there are 2 or more possible or confirmed cases this needs to be reported as an outbreak. The Health Protection Team is responsible for tracking and monitoring incidents of infectious disease outbreaks across the county.
To report a case we require the person's name, date of birth and the date of their test.
Lincolnshire Health Protection Team:
We are available Monday to Friday, 8am-6pm.
Reporting during school holidays
During school holidays, you should notify the Health Protection Team of positive COVID-19 cases only if:
- a student or staff member tests positive for COVID-19 within 48 hours of their last day in the setting
- a student or staff member tests positive for COVID-19 and their symptoms started within 48 hours of their last day in the setting
This is because the student or staff member may have been in your setting during their infectious period, and we'll need to work with you to ensure that all appropriate health protection measures have been implemented.
If you are notified of a positive case during the school holidays outside of the above circumstances then you don't need to notify the Health Protection Team. You should however keep your own record and ask them and their household to self-isolate.
